The Bangladesh Society of Physiologists (BSP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting education, research, and the dissemination of knowledge in medical physiology. Established in 2006 with 111 members, BSP has since grown to include over 600 members. The organization is governed by an elected council comprising a President, Secretary General, and ten executive members. BSP's headquarters are located in the Department of Physiology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in Shahbag, Dhaka. Additionally, BSP is affiliated with the South Asian Association of Physiologists (SAAP) and the International Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS), both of which are coalitions of independent societies that actively advocate for the interests of physiological scientists.
